Shortly after Joel announced his departure from The Amity Affliction, the rest of the guys have decided to
call it a day too. Go to www.myspace.com/theamityvilleaffliction Amity will be sadly missed by all who have heard/supported/known the band. To read a statement from the band click on read more. The Amity Affliction 2003-2006 - R.I.P Taken From their myspace: Thank you so much to everyone who has emailed, commented or called, it means a lot. Amity are going to do three farewell shows to see ourselves out. There will be one in gympie, one in brisbane & one in coolangatta. We would really love it if everyone could come out and support us in these final shows. We want one final goodbye. If anyone was wondering at all, Joel will be doing all three shows as well; even though it was meant to be his last in brisbane, that was prior to the break-up, so Joel has agreed to play all the shows as it's going to be the 'real' end of the band. We can't say thank you enough to all of those who have supported us over the years. There are far too many reasons to write in one myspace bulletin regarding this band, far too many memories, far too many stories. There is nothing left to say for us, we spent the better part of our teens (plus Joel in the latter stages, and then Troels), trying to make this band the best it could be, and there is no-one sadder than ourselves to see it go, but that's just how it is. Garth is moving on to what he deserves and what he has worked so hard for, and he will now be playing music full-time with behind crimson eyes; we would love you all to support them as you supported amity, as they're both good friends of ours and also an amazing band, and amazing people. Nearly all the members of amity are moving onto new projects, and you'll all be kept in 'the loop' so to speak via this myspace, so keep your eyes open. We cannot stress enough how much we've appreciated your support over the course of our bands' life, words alone cannot express. Like it was said earlier, we are going to be playing three farewell shows, hopefully we can see most of you there. Love always, Amity. Ahren, Garth, Joel, Lachlan, Troels, Troy & Snowy, without you & your family this band never would have happened. Thank you to all our close friends who are standing by us through all of this, without your friendship we'd be nothing. xo |
