Bio After one-and-a-half years Brisbane's saynothing are set to release their
debut EP.
It's an accurate picture of where they are now. Conflicting influences have
been reconciled and integrated. What emerges is a solid blast of rock and
roll noise: part hardcore, metal, punk.
From the straight-up beats and hooks of Thirst for Shadows to the break-neck
speed of Cold Lights to the rocking, rolling, shuddering The Murder of Kitty
Genovese, the EP covers a lot of ground in just twenty minutes.
They've been hard to pidgeon-hole from day one. Variously described in
reviews as 'punk', 'hardcore' and 'emocore', the boys have left the name
game behind and stuck to making music that makes them want to rock out.
Their first shows at Brisbane's Club Sabotage gave saynothing a reputation
for pummeling, non-stop live shows. Their first six months together saw them
average a show a week, the hard work rewarded with support slots for
big-name internationals Unwritten Law, Midtown, Pulley, Useless ID and
Strung Out, MxPx, Motion City Soundtrack and Millencolin.
They've also played with popular Aussie acts In The Grey, Kiss Chasy,
Irrelevant, Against, The Amity Affliction, Horsell Common and The Scare.
