From These Wounds formed in late 2002 with the simple desire to play
melodic, aggressive metalcore with a message. Each member having cut
their teeth on numerous bands in the Brisbane scene, the segue from
writing to playing proved to be a smooth transition, and support on
many levels of the fast-growing and tight-knit local hardcore scene has
been deeply appreciated. Combining the varied influences of
mid-nineties melodic death metal and the ever-present hardcore
breakdown, FTW have been compared to bands such as Arkangel, In Dying
Days and Darkest Hour, yet continue to maintain a personal
